The Youth Team
SADLY… we have been unable to run an under 15 team for the 2019/20 season due to a lack of players. We have had other teams explore the possibility of joining BBFC, but nothing concrete has emerged. We are looking into how we can run Mini-Soccer sessions for girls & boys aged 5 to 7. The text below shows that we are ready to develop our Youth section as we are are clear on the direction we can take.
Youth Team Responding to public demand, Battle Baptist FC created a youth team.
They are currently the only youth sides representing the town of Battle. The club began with the formation of an Under 12 side, & now we plan to run an Under 15 team in the Rother Youth League for the 2019/20 season.
Training for girls & boys of all abilities & backgrounds takes place at the Claverham Community College 3G (September to April) or at Battle Rec (April to August). Training sessions are currently led by Youth Team Coach, Liam Mann who is about to complete his FA Level 1 Coaching badge. Liam is supported at training by Club Welfare Officer, Andy Garlick (who is also the adult third team manger & a FA Level Two coach…. plus Youth Team Secretary, Phil Johnson who takes the training fees & completes registration paperwork. BBFC have been accredited with Disability Football following our partnership with 1066 Specials & our experience with players with learning difficulties.
Home matches are played on Saturday mornings, normally at Battle Rec (except December to February when home games are played on the Claverham 3G).
Away match locations vary. For more details about our youth team, or if your child has an interest in joining the club and playing in a safe & welcoming environment, please contact us using the Message Board facility below. You can also download our 2019/20 Welcome & Registration form.
